The re-named "Explorer" Series of our Softshell line are the
same tried and trued feature packed design as our Stealth
Series, but feature our pique woven, highly abrasion
resistant Rhinohide Softshell fabrics. Many of our
users prefer a more rugged texture in their softshells,
where noise discipline is not as paramount as found in our
smoothface Sharkskin Softshell materials. Subdued, low profile and tasked to perform in
just about any area of operation from the wild backcountry
to the mean streets, anywhere in the world. Our
apparel has been worn and proven in wilderness environments
all over the world, in combat, and on the every day street. |

This Explorer Softshell Jacket is feature rich and fully
loaded. It's the original concept pioneered by
TAD Gear long before the offshore-made big tactical
brand names even had a clue what a "tactical soft
shell jacket" was. Ours was and still is
homegrown in the USA! Our production and
design process includes the involvement of avid
outdoorsmen, Elite Local and Federal Law
Enforcement, Wildlife Field Professionals, active
duty and prior Servicemen, members of Special
Operations Units, and industry experts like founding
members of some of the most recognized brands in
mountaineering such as TNF. What other
tactical soft shell jacket can say that?
