Relied upon by wilderness explorers and soldiers alike, we’ve continuously evolved our Ranger Hoodie since its introduction in 2002. We designed it to be the essential fleece jacket you reach for wherever adventure takes you––in the field, out in the wild or around the urban jungle. To accomplish our objective, we chose the highest quality fleece available, renowned for its thermal and wind protection and ability to withstand demanding use. We tuned the fit, construction and functionality to exceed the baseline performance requirements and deliver a jacket that actually supports and enhances your capabilities. Evolved fit This year, thanks to feedback from our intrepid customers, we are proud to bring you the Ranger in an evolved fit designed specifically to ease layering and increase your range of movement in high speed activity. For those familiar with the Ranger LT, the fit is the same, with the difference being that the Ranger is made with the heaviest weight Polartec®, WindPro® available while the LT is made with the lightest. Mid-layer to outer layer flexibility Made with DWR-treated Polartec WindPro, the Ranger works effectively as an outer layer in wide ranging conditions–blocking four times as much wind as a traditional fleece. When precipitation comes on strong, you can easily add a Spectre Hardshell Jacket or Stealth Hoodie LT for added weather protection as the fits are complementary. The half-mitt thumbholes facilitate adding and removing layers while providing you some thermal protection when you need your hands free of gloves. Ergonomically placed, intelligent storage We designed our pocket system to meet the needs of those wearing packs or web gear. The array of six pockets is strategically placed to provide ready, ambidextrous access to EDC items. The chest and upper arm pockets include D-rings to dummycord and secure your gear. We also upgraded the hunter’s pocket to be more discreet by integrating it into the seam. Comfort Out in the field, a little comfort goes a long way. Beyond the inherently comfortable feel of fleece, the Ranger Hoodie maintains breathability while blocking wind. It’s constructed with a single panel running from the cuff, up the arm, and down the torso to the bottom hem–enabling your full range of motion. Our uniquely designed Aero hood lies flat on the upper back when not worn, reducing bulk around the neck. Note: Patched versions include loop at the bicep and on the back of the hood to accommodate our Ranger Eyes, traditionally used in military contexts to help distinguish between friend or foe during night missions.Fit Material - Polartec® Wind Pro®
