Made up of skilled and fearsome warriors, the Praetorian Guards were assigned to protect the emperors of Rome. Inspired by history, we designed our Praetorian Hoodie to take on challenges whenever they arise.
Designed for action
With a streamlined fit and four way stretch, the Praetorian moves with you. It provides moderate thermal protection and is designed for easy layering, giving you true four season performance. The thumbholes make it easy to add and remove layers while providing you an extra measure of warmth when you need it. Reinforced elbows will extend its wear despite rigorous use. Our signature Aero hood lies flat when not in use, reducing bulk around the neck.
A naturally hard working and adaptive fabric
Merino wool has the natural ability to regulate body temperature. During exertion or warm weather, it wicks away moisture from your body and releases it on the surface. This evaporation mechanism has a cooling effect, enhancing comfort while keeping you dry. To help you stay warm in cold weather, the air pockets in the Merino fiber trap body heat to provide insulation. This adaptive capability makes the Praetorian highly flexible, important if you need to count on a small set of gear to handle unpredictable conditions. Merino is also naturally fire retardant, providing a measure of assurance when in the field.
Stands up to extended use scenarios
For those engaged in extended travel, outdoor exploration or operations in the field, you need to rely on gear that puts few demands on you. Merino has a high warmth-to-weight ratio, making it packable and unobtrusive when moving light and fast. It also does not retain odors, giving you more uses between laundering than other fabrics.
