Paracord is a lightweight nylon kernmantle rope originally used by US paratroopers during World War II for myriad tasks, such as attaching equipment to harnesses, dummycording small items, tying rucksacks to vehicles or attaching camouflage nets to trees or vehicles. More than sixty years later, paracord acts as an essential tool by both forces in the field and citizens alike, relied upon for its strength and versatility.
The TAD 550 Paracord is a 550 lb. tensile strength, 7-strand paracord. Wrap it around your TAD DUK handle or weave it into a bracelet to keep it handy. In a survival situation, you can create fishing lines out of the strands or, as one TAD team member found out, use it to hold a car battery in place in the middle of nowhere.
